Just like in most online courses and degree programs, more people today prefer this education method because it is more flexible, convenient, and in most cases, more cost-efficient to earn.
When choosing an accounting degree online, the main factors to consider are your resources and career goals. There are different types of degree programs and career paths to become a certified accountant and these accounting education programs usually vary based on years of study, and the types of jobs you can qualify after graduation. Online accounting degrees are usually structured the same with the traditional accounting curriculum so online students will also obtain the same education and training just like those students enrolled in traditional schools.
The only difference is that students enrolled in accounting degree online are not required to go to actual classrooms and attend face-to-face lectures from instructors. Lectures are usually done through online discussion like video chatting and other online communication tools like electronic mails or email. The important thing to remember when choosing to enroll in an accounting degree online is to enroll only in online school that is accredited by the accrediting body in your country or state.
As mentioned before, to choose the right degree in accounting to enroll in you need to consider first your resources and career goals. Resources include your financial resources, and time. If you think that you do not have the money to support a 4-year education in college but you still want to pursue a career in accounting, then a 2-year associate accounting degree online will be a good option.

It can also qualify you in night auditor jobs but these kinds of jobs usually do not require a degree in accounting. If you have the time and money for a full college education, then taking a bachelor’s degree in accounting, online or offline, is the best option. It can qualify you for better accounting jobs, and more career enhancement options later on.

As the author of the job secarh book, Think Like an Interviewer: Your Job Hunting Guide to Success, let me answer your question.Because they’re saying that an MBA is preferable, I think you’ll still be considered for it because you have what they prefer. If you didn’t have the MBA, then that would be another story because you won’t have the business background needed for these jobs. But with your MBA, you do have the necessary business training. So I think you’ll be considered here. The big question is whether you even want to put your undergrad degree on your resume at all. Since it’s in a totally unrelated field, it doesn’t really help you. That is unless it’s a biomed company or something healthcare related. So my suggestion would be to take it off your resume unless you’re dealing with a biomed or healthcare company. That way, all they’ll see if that you have the preferred MBA under your belt. Was this answer helpful?
