All public school students are required to wear the national flag Jalur Gemilang badge on their school uniforms starting from next Monday, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said.
She said all state Education Departments would ensure that all students comply with the rule starting from April 21.
Fadhlina said this was an important initiative by the Education Ministry. She added that it was in line with the government’s decision to ensure that the spirit of patriotism, love for the country and the highest respect for the Jalur Gemilang were instilled in schoolchildren.
Fadhlina said this was a major commitment at a time when the country needed a boost of national spirit and love for the homeland.
The Education Ministry will supply two Jalur Gemilang badges free of charge to all students for the 2025/2026 school session.
The Jalur Gemilang badge provided to students will be in the form of a pin badge, making it easy to attach to school uniforms. The badges will be distributed directly to students in phases.
