Department of Education

Trump’s education reform will backfire on Republicans

March 23, 2025 By admin

“His voters are going to wake up to this.”

Trump’s reforms to the department of education will negatively impact red states who are “more dependent on federal funding”, says former assistant secretary for communications and outreach in the U.S. Department of Education Peter Cunningham.

Will Trump Eliminate The Department Of Education? | Forbes Topline

November 17, 2024 By admin

President-elect Donald Trump has repeatedly vowed to shutter the federal Department of Education and relegate all educational responsibility to individual states—a move that could impact crucial funding for K-12 schools and hamper civil rights enforcement—but experts warn it’s unlikely the federal government will be able to be hands off when it comes to education regulation, even if the department is closed.

Will Donald Trump eliminate the Department of Education?

November 15, 2024 By admin

As President-elect Donald Trump assembles his transition team and appoints members to his Cabinet, there are growing rumors that he plans to eliminate the federal Department of Education.

If Trump did get rid of the Education Department, how would it happen and what would change?

The Department of Education was formed in 1980 under President Jimmy Carter. It’s in charge of collecting data for American schools, establishing federal policies, distributing federal funds and administering federal student loans and financial aid.

Trump has long vowed to eliminate the department. During his first term, he proposed merging the Education and Labor departments. However, the plan never got off the ground and the departments remain separate. #Politics #News #Trump #Education
