This presentation will feature a special introduction from Dr. Terry Stoops, the John Locke Foundation Vice President for Research and Director of Education Studies. Mike will then discuss the quest to empower families in North Carolina with the freedom to choose an education – public, private, charter, home-school, or virtual – that best meets the needs of their child. Traditional public schools enroll the majority of students in North Carolina, but in recent years, growth has been declining while non-traditional enrollment numbers have been growing rapidly. The second annual Creative Time Summit was all the buzz this year, when the group hosted their event at Boys & Girls High School in Bedford-­Stuyvesant. The theme was CURRICULUM: Radical Reform of Public School Education, and BRIC TV caught some of the key local highlights.

Charter Schools May Be the Future of Public Education
